Ruthin writer’s original play will debut on London stage
Originally from Ruthin, Robert Emlyn Slater now lives in London where he has written for celebrity news website Entertainment Daily and worked as a freelance writer and playwright for theatre companies.
Now his first full play – Death and the Cat- is about to make it’s debut at the Drayton Arms Theatre in Kensington from November 26-30.
Tickets are available at www.thedraytonarmstheatre.co.uk/death-and-the-cat.
“The play follows Death and his pet cat, Panther,” said Robert. “They have been guiding the souls of the dead into the afterlife for time untold – until they have a falling out and the Grim Reaper’s pet cat runs away.
“Alone, angry, and missing his best friend, Death goes rogue, sending the universe tumbling into chaos.”
The play features gods, demons, a harrowing taxi ride, a spooky hotel and a pub in Wales and exploring life, death and friendship.
“I’m really excited and would love to see some fellow Welsh people in the audience,” he said.
