Storm Darragh: Essential travel only and reduced service on Saturday 7 December | Chiltern Railways News
Chiltern Railways’ customers are advised to only travel if absolutely necessary on Saturday 7 December due to strong winds and rain expected throughout the day.
Weather warnings have been issued as a result of Storm Darragh, causing significant disruption across the network.
A reduced timetable will be in operation with one train per hour in service on all routes. Journey planners have been updated.
Chiltern customers with tickets on Saturday can use their ticket on Sunday 8 December (subject to the storm subsiding), Monday 9 December or Tuesday 10 December instead.
Tony Baxter, Operations Director at Chiltern Railways, said:
“I urge customers to only travel if essential on Saturday and take extra care as Storm Darragh will cause disruption to our services.
“Strong winds can significantly impact railway infrastructure, including blowing trees or other objects onto the line and unfortunately the storm is set to affect our network throughout Saturday.
“Customers with valid tickets on Saturday can use their ticket on Sunday (8 December), Monday (9 December), or Tuesday (10 December), instead.”
