- More than 50 flood warnings, where flooding is expected, are still in place across England and Wales.
The first victim of Storm Darragh’s destruction, a ‘wonderful’ football coach from Lancashire, was named. - West Ham striker Michail Antonio, who crashed in his Ferrari during Storm Darragh on Saturday, underwent surgery on a lower limb fracture, his club said in a statement on X.
- Travel disruption and power cuts have persisted throughout the day and will continue into tomorrow.
- 118,922 properties remain without power as of 2pm, although the National Grid said power has been restored to over 1,300,000 customers. 15,000 homes are also lacking power in Northern Ireland.
- National Highways said the M48 at Severn Bridge will remain closed in both directions between J1 and J2 until winds decrease.
- Network Rail said that Storm Darragh ‘wrecked havoc’ on the railway, with journeys between Stoke and Stafford suspended while repairs take place.
- Several flights from Heathrow Airport have been cancelled and delayed due to the strong winds.
- Storm Darragh has caused devastation across the UK. A roof was torn off a rugby club in Wales and a farmer told Metro that his farm in Northern Ireland has been ‘destroyed’.
