Swindon activists travel to London for Stand Up To Racism march

The group left early on Saturday morning, October 26, to join the “Stop Tommy Robinson anti-fascist counter-demonstration” organised by Stand Up To Racism.

Willow, 25, from Swindon, said: “In the wake of the verdict on the murder of Chris Kaba, the current genocides across the globe and the rise of the far right, it’s important to stand up in solidarity against oppression in all its forms.”

Eight-year-old Rohan attended with his mum, Lauren, who said: “He knows why we are marching today and how important it is to stand up to racism.”

Kevin, 62, from Swindon, added: “The Swindon Stand Up To Racism contingent was an important contribution to the national anti-racist and anti-fascist campaign nationally – containing a major call-to-arms by Tommy Robinson – and an important component in declaring resistance to racism locally and keeping the far-right off our own streets.”
