Taylor Swift tour cancelled over planned terror attack in Vienna – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Vienna has been cancelled after two men were arrested under suspicion of planning a terror attack.
Austrian federal and local officer arrested two men on Wednesday and are now in custody for planning an attack at one of Swift’s performances.
Management company Barracuda Music said in a statement, “We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.
“All tickets will be automatically refunded.”
The arrests of the two men who had become radicalised online comes more than a week after the Taylor Swift themed children’s dance class in Southport saw a mass stabbing which killed three young girls.
Once Swift returns back to the UK Scotland Yard will look into “all the intelligence,” the Policing minister Diana Johnson said.
Johnson was asked on LBC over the arrests made in Vienna could mean for the singer’s UK tour, she said, Clearly, the police will be looking at all the intelligence and making decisions, they risk assess every event that happens in this country, and that’s something for the police.
“Can I also just say there is, of course, a commitment in our manifesto in the General Election to introduce Martyn’s law, which, again, is about making sure that those … venues which could be subject to terrorist attack have in place everything that they need in terms of keeping people safe, and that will be brought forward by the government shortly.”
