Taylor Swift’s London concert will happen, Mayor confirms Vienna episode won’t hamper plans
Great relief for fans who are looking forward to attending Taylor Swift concert in London. After three concerts were cancelled in Vienna following a terror attack scare, there is confirmation that the scheduled London concert will go through since security has been arranged for the same.
The London concert is a part of The Eras Tour. The scheduled concert will take place over the weekend.
Mayor of London erases doubts, says London concert will happen
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan rubbished rumours of the concert being postponed for a later date and said have no doubts since the London tour will happen as scheduled.
Sadiq Khan told media, “We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events, we’re never complacent, many lessons were learned after the awful Manchester Arena attack. The police work closely, not just with City Hall, but with councils, but also with those who host concerts, like the Taylor Swift concert coming up over the next couple of weeks.”
He added, “I’m sure Vienna has got its own reasons to cancel the Taylor Swift concerts, we’re going to carry on, working closely with police ensuring that the Taylor Swift concerts can take place in London safely.”
Taylor Swift’s Vienna concerts cancelled after police foiled terror attacks
Taylor Swift fans in Vienna will have to wait a bit longer since three concerts had to be cancelled owing to security reasons. Taylor Swift was supposed to perform on August 8,9 and 10 at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. Just before she was to perform, the police caught two men who allegedly have links with the ISIS and were planning a “bloodbath” in the Austrian capital.
The organisers of the concert released a statement after cancelling the shows, “Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety.”
Meanwhile, Taylor is doing well amid this chaos. Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, got on a phone with the singer and eased all tension according to reports. The Sun reports that he got in touch with her and made her laugh since he understands what’s it’s like to not be able to perform after having practised for it.
