This London Christmas market has been crowned one of the best in the world

What’s your favourite London Christmas market? Do you prefer supremely picturesque surroundings like those of Leadenhall and the South Bank? Would you rather indulge in the all-senses festive party at Winter Wonderland? Or are the countless indie stalls of Spitalfields more your sort of thing?

London has a Christmas market for every taste, and now one of those markets has been crowned one of the best on the entire planet. Well, if you count ‘best’ and ‘most popular’ as pretty much the same thing (it is ‘the more the merrier’, after all). Travel experts at InsureandGo crunched travel trend numbers for markets around the world, ranking them by how much search volume has increased over the last year.

In the overall ranking, London’s Covent Garden Christmas Market came third. That’s right, the third hottest-trending festive market on the planet is right here in London’s West End.

CV’s market has apparently seen a 238 percent increase in search interest compared to last year. The area’s Apple and Jubilee markets are getting into the festive spirit as we speak – Covent Garden’s festive lights displays will be switched on next week.

Covent Garden Christmas Market was the highest-placing UK market in Insureandgo’s list and was only beaten by Stockholm’s Skansen market and New York’s Bryant Park’s market.
