Across Ireland thousands of homes, businesses and farms are without power as the entire island is under weather warnings on Wednesday.
Overnight the temperature is expected to hit as low as -8C into Thursday and it is hoped by Friday the weather will improve.
Thw whole of the Republic of Ireland is on Status Yellow for sub-zero temperatures with ice until Friday.
Irish weather agency Met Eireann has warned there is a risk of dangerous travelling conditions, animal welfare problems and possible transport delays.
Met Eireann has said it will be “bitterly cold on Thursday with widespread ice, frost and freezing fog.
Irish utility agency Uisce Eireann said work continues to restore water and the Electricity Supply Board said that some 4,000 businesses, homes and farms have no power.
