The Prime Minister has said that to lower energy bills more pylons will be need as to bury cables under the ground is too costly.
Sir Keir Starmer said the public will have to accept the pylons of face higher taxes as the pylons will be used to carry electricity from the wind farms off East Anglia coastline.
Campaigners are against the pylons in East Anglia and believe they have been thrown “under a bus,” Starmer insists this is not true and to have lower energy bill the UK must no shy away “from these trade-offs for too long.”
The Prime Minister told journalists, “If you want lower energy bills, we’re going to have to have pylons above the ground.
“Yes, there is the option to put them below the ground – it costs much more money, and if there’s one consistent theme into and out of the last election, it’s that most people feel they’re already paying too much tax, and I don’t think many would put their hand up to pay more tax in relation to that.”
