US Military expert warns it’s ‘almost impossible for Ukraine to win’

A former us Lt and military expert has warned that Russia will “win” the war and it is “almost impossible for Ukraine to win.”

Speaking to GB News Lt. Daniel Davis said if you take the emotion out of it and simply look at the balance of the power on both side, Ukraine does not have “the manpower pool.”

Even though the US has provided $61 billion in aid, Davis believes this will not make a difference and that Russia is on the path to victory.

Speaking with Jacob Rees-Mogg on GBN America Lt. Davis was asked if the $61 billion in US military aid will make a difference.

He replied, “Unfortunately not. This is almost entirely a transactional political issue.

“I don’t think many people really believe this will make a difference on the battlefield and as a military guy, this won’t change much on the tactical front.”

Lt. Davis was then asked if he believes that therefore Russia will “win” the war, he said, “It does.”

Lt. Davis added: “I have to say it point blank, even though a lot of people won’t like hearing that.

“If you take the emotion out of it and you look at the balance of power of both sides, the relative current balance and the way things are going, especially on the manpower pool, those categories alone make it almost impossible for the Ukraine side to win.

“No matter how brave and righteous they are, it’s a mathematical and capability issue.

“The US on the other hand really doesn’t have the capacity, even if they had the money to expand the amount of artillery pieces, shells, defence interceptors.

“They don’t have the capacity and it would take more than a year-and-a-half to get about a third of what Ukraine needs today to offset the Russian advances.

“Russia aren’t static either.

“They’re continuing to expand even more. I see no prospect for Ukraine to even hang on, much less to win.”

Ukraine is facing “almost insurmountable” challenges as Russian forces are growing and are gaining ground.

A former British Army officer has warned that Ukraine has just six months left as Moscow will be able to achieve “significant success” by the summer.

The US Congress failure to supply Ukraine with military aid until now has meant that Washington has handed Putin a victory as the Russian army have the initiative on the frontlines.

Colonel Richard Kemp wrote in The Telegraph last week saying, “While the new aid packages might allow that to be blunted, they will not enable Ukraine to seize the initiative and go back onto the offensive.”

Col. Kemp added, “One reason for this is that Russia has achieved air supremacy in many areas while ground based air defences will remain inadequate.

“Another is that a war-weary Ukraine simply doesn’t have enough troops and after more than two years hard fighting seems reluctant to launch the major mobilisation it needs.”

He said that for many months Moscow have been growing their wartime economy and the Kremlin is “willing to sacrifice” enormous “force levels” to “achieve Putin’s goals.”

He added, “If Moscow is able to achieve significant success in the summer, perhaps including taking Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, there will be no appetite for more Western spending come the winter.

“This bleak outlook will be worsened by the added uncertainty surrounding general elections in both the US and UK.

“It looks like, as in previous wars, Russia will have begun badly but finished well through a level of determination so badly lacking among Ukraine’s allies in the West.”
