What Is Drake London’s Religion & Ethnicity? Is the Falcons WR a Christian?

The Falcons knew what they were getting when Drake London became the first receiver to be drafted in the 2022 NFL draft. After adding him to the roster, then head coach Arthur Smith stated, “With somebody like Drake, there are a lot of characteristics that we liked. The skillset, we thought, was unique.”

Looking back, London was indeed a special athlete, as he showcased dual capabilities during his time at USC. From spending hours in a basketball court to running down the gridiron, London was on his way to breaking USC records in receptions and receiving yards. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as London currently finds himself holding the all-time record in receptions by a rookie with 72 in the NFL.

Having been born in Moorpark, California, to parents Cindi London and Dwan London. The Falcons WR proudly flaunts his American ethnicity and is often spotted wearing a T-shirt named “Just a kid from Moorpark.” Although his dad, Dwan London, is of African American Heritage, he has remained a staunch supporter of Drake’s dream as a footballer.

The moment Dwan heard that London wasn’t interested in schoolwork, he chalked out a roadmap for him to pursue football. Even his mother, Cindi, has often supported Drake by visiting his college football games to cheer for his son. Well, it wasn’t the only time when London’s parents found themselves in stadiums searching for their son.

As his father shared a pregame ritual that the Londons follow to ensure Drake steers clear of any hardships on the field. By hearing that pregame ritual, we might be able to know the religion London follows to guide his spiritual beliefs.

What are Drake London’s religious beliefs?

From the day London started playing football, his father shared how a pregame prayer he used to say before letting his son step on the field. “I used to do it in private in his bedroom, just me and him, because I allowed him to play tackle football, and I didn’t know how dangerous tackle football can be,” Dwan shared.

Although there were possible risks of London getting injured when putting in a tackle or a player colliding against him. His father had firm beliefs in the Lord to protect his son, “So, Ok, let’s try to get out of this as healthy as we possibly can and ask the Lord to guide us through this whole process.”

Well, those beliefs haven’t stopped, with London now entering his third season in the NFL. Both Dwan and Cindi ensure they visit as many games as possible, whether it’s away or at home in Mercedes Benz Stadium. When the Falcons WR was asked about the commitment his parents show towards him, London said, “It means everything.” Seeing the bond London shares with his parents, we could probably say his religious beliefs coincide with them and so, he might be Christian.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Atlanta Falcons WR can continue his upward trajectory in the NFL while his parents continue to pray for his success.
