What’s open and closed on Christmas and Boxing Day in the London area | CBC News

To help you plan ahead, we’ve drawn up a list (and checked it twice) detailing some of the closures you’ll find in the city.

Shopping:

Both Masonville and White Oaks malls will be closed on Dec. 25th.

Masonville will re-open on Boxing Day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and White Oaks Mall will operate from 8:00 a.m., to 9:00 p.m.

Grocery stores:

Grocery stores are closed in London on Christmas Day, but will be open on Boxing Day:

  • Food Basics locations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Farm Boy Masonville from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Real Canadian Superstore locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • No Frills locations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Metro locations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Sobeys locations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Banks:

All major banks will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. 

Hours may differ on Christmas Eve, check with your local bank. 

Government offices:

Service Ontario will be closed for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

London City Hall will be closed from Dec. 24 at noon until January 2nd 2025

Transit:

London Transit will operate on holiday schedules on December 25th, 26th 

Alcohol:

Select locations of Wine Rack are open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The website will have store location details

The Beer Store is closing all locations across Ontario at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and will stay closed until Boxing Day. On the 26, some stores will be open. 

The LCBO is closing its doors at 6pm on the 24, Use the store locator to find out which ones are open on the 26.
