Where’s Raghav Chadha? AAP MP’s London Trip Amid Kejriwal Arrest Spurs Speculation

Amid the turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, opposition voices have raised questions about the absence of the party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha.

Speculation swirls regarding Chadha’s whereabouts amidst the Enforcement Directorate’s intensified scrutiny into the now-defunct Delhi liquor policy. His absence from the political scene has prompted queries from rival politicians.

Chadha X account shows that he has been in London since March 8, undergoing a vitrectomy, a form of eye surgery.

During his stay, he also participated in an interactive session at the London India Forum 2024, organized by the London School of Economics (LSE), where his wife, Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra, was also a guest speaker.

Despite being overseas, Chadha has maintained engagement with Indian affairs, attending the Prime Minister’s Question Session at the House of Commons and condemning Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate through social media posts and video messages.

His absence has raised eyebrows not only within the BJP but also within the INDIA Bloc, AAP’s coalition partner.

NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Jitendra Awhad and BJP’s Amit Malviya have both questioned Chadha’s absence.

On Saturday, March 30, NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Jitendra Awhad questioned Chadha’s absence. In a since-deleted post on X, Awhad asked, “Where is Raghav Chadha?”

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya too questioned Chadha’s absence, tweeting, “… Elections have been announced in India. But Raghav Chadha, Arvind Kejriwal’s blue eyed boy, is in London! Why?…”.
