Woman dies after being attacked by her XL Bully  in London home

The woman in her 50s died at the scene after emergency services were called to Cornwall Close in Hornchurch about 1.12pm BST on Monday, the BBC reports.

Police said the woman owned the XL bully dogs, which were banned in the UK in February.

Armed officers attended the scene and safely seized the two dogs, the Metropolitan Police told the BBC.

Officers said the family of the woman was being supported by officers.

Anyone who owns one of the dogs must have had the animal neutered, have it microchipped and keep it muzzled and on a lead in public, among other restrictions, according to the BBC.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Friday described XL Bully dogs as a “danger to our communities” in September before the ban was enforced.
