Zelensky open to the idea of Western troops in Ukraine – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com
On Monday the Ukrainian President has said he is open to the idea of Western troops in his country to guarantee Kyiv’s security against Russia.
Volodymyr Zelensky said that this will be a step forward for Ukraine joining the alliance, he added, “But before that, we must have a clear understanding of when Ukraine will be in the European Union and when Ukraine will be in NATO.”
President Zelensky said he will talk with President Joe Biden over Ukraine’s potential membership into NATO whilst he is still in the White House as Donald Trump currently does not have any “legal rights” to decide on this until after his inauguration in January.

The US President elect Trump said of Zelensky, “He wants to have a cease-fire,” that the Ukrainian President “wants to make peace. We didn’t talk about the details.”
Trump said that Ukrainian forces are taking heavy losses on the battlefield and Russia has the upper hand in what is the largest conflict in Europe since World War II.
Trump added, “I’m formulating a concept of how to end that ridiculous war.”
President Zelenskyy told an Interfax-Ukraine agency correspondent, “And, frankly speaking, we can think and work on Emmanuel’s position. Remember, he suggested that some part of the troops of a particular country to be present in some territories of Ukraine that would guarantee security while Ukraine is not in NATO.
